Wood & Strings Theatre - November 17th, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

Wood and Strings Theatre will perform "Out Of the Mist...A Dragon" at Campbellsville High School in Hamilton Auditorium.  On November 17, there will be a special school performance at  9 a.m, a worshop at 1 p.m and an evening perfomance at 7:30 p.m.

"Wood and Strings Theatre uses the captivating and comprehensive nature of art to engage the imagination, create experiences full of meaning and provide tools to build positive solutions for life's challenges."

The puppet theater will be performing a school performance and a workshop for children, as well as the evening performance. For more information, contact us.

Chamber Orchestra-Kremlin - February 19th, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

The third performance of the arts series will be the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin which is based in Moscow, Russia.  The orchestra will perform at Campbellsville University’s Ransdell Chapel.

"Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, founded and led by Misha Rachlevsky, has earned national and international recognition as one of Russia's leading ensembles."

Home Roots Series - Janna McMahan - April 13th, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

Concluding the season will be the Home Roots Program, which highlights one of Campbellsville's own talented artists. This year's presentaion will feature the award winning author Janna McMahan.  She will speak on April 13th at 7:30 p.m. at the University Theater of Campbellsville University.

"Janna’s short fiction has won numerous awards including the Imaginative Writing Award from the Kentucky Women Writer’s Conference, the South Carolina Fiction Project and the Piccolo Spoleto Fiction Open. Her fiction has been published in journals, magazines and newspapers such as Wind, Limestone, Yamassee, The Nantahala Review, Arts Across Kentucky, The Charleston Post & Courier and Alimentum: The Literature of Food. Janna has also published many dozen personal essays and articles on visual and literary art. Her non-fiction has appeared in Skirt!, MAMM, Cure, Appalachian Journal, South Carolina Wildlife, Charleston, South Carolina Homes & Gardens, Sandlapper, Travelingmom.com, musingmama.com and A Good Blog is Hard to Find."

The CKAS Board of Directors sends a special thanks to Professor William R. Neal. Dr. Neal authored the grant application that has resulted in a $1,441 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Southern Arts Federation. The grant will be used to support the puppet theater performance Out of the Mist … A Dragon by Wood and Strings, which premiers on November 17, 2009. It is the generous contributions of our volunteers such as Dr. Neal that found the success of each Art Series year, and we sincerely thank him and all of you who continue to contribute to our efforts.
