Best Outdoor Music Atmosphere In Kentucky

Kentucky is often linked with a background in horse racing, and for good reason. But, the scenic beauty and rich artistic history make it a perfect setting in which to enjoy outdoor music from a variety of genres. The good news is that not only can you find music in a great atmosphere, but in many cases it is either free or low-cost, so you’ll have the perfect excuse to plan an outing to enjoy new and familiar bands without stretching your budget.

If it’s bluegrass that you’re after, Kentucky is the place for it. Check out Pickin’ In The Park in Compton, KY for top class artists playing in Compton Park every Thursday night from 7-10 with no cover charge.

Twenty-something’s will feel right at home in Lexington’s Two Keys Tavern. With a large outdoor patio, there’s live music to be found most nights, as well as appealing drink specials. It’s the perfect place to unwind.

Finally, for the best in blues, check out the Mary Ann Fisher summer concert series in Russellville. Hosted on the grounds of the West Kentucky African American Heritage Center, attendees can enjoy a relaxed and casual outdoor setting, and access to local vendors.
